Hi

Hello and welcome! I’m so excited (and a little nervous) to be writing my very first blog post.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m Louise — a jewellery designer and maker who recently graduated with a First-Class Degree in Jewellery Design. Since finishing university, life has been a bit of a whirlwind! I was honoured to receive a student award from the ACJ (Association for Contemporary Jewellery) for my degree jewellery pieces and to show my work at New Designers in London, a graduate exhibition that brings together fresh talent from across the UK. At New Designers I was able to get feedback of my creations and meet some amazing people.

Since then, things have only grown more exciting. My jewellery will be part of 'PORTAL' at Llantarnum Grange Art Gallery, and I’ll also be exhibiting at Cluster in London later in the year. And most recently, I was thrilled to learn that my work has been accepted into the 2025 Beijing International Art Exhibition later this year. So I need to pack those pieces and send them out.

In this blog, I'll be offering insights into my journey: behind-the-scenes looks at my design process, the inspirations for my collections, and news from exhibitions and events. I also intend for this to be a space where I can contemplate the experience of building a creative career from scratch — the challenges, the successes, and the everyday joys that drive the creative process.
